MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - A long line of people showed up to see Jerry Kill Friday afternoon at the University of Minnesota bookstore.

Kill, signing copies of his new book, “Chasing Dreams: Living My Life One Yard At A Time.” The book tells the story of his career, along with his battle with cancer and epilepsy.

“You're always looking for a nugget to get better and maybe there's something in there to make you a little better,” Kill says.

It's been nearly a year since Kill's health forced him to step down as head coach of the Gopher football program.

He says his health is much-improved today.

“I've lost about twenty pounds. I'm on a special diet for epilepsy and walking and sleeping better,” says Kill.

Kill is now an Associate Athletic Director at Kansas State, overseeing the football program.

As he places roots on a new campus he says Minnesota is still close to his heart.

“We certainly miss Minnesota a lot. Certainly my wife, she loved the city and all the things to do and I miss the players, the coaches and, you know, my family. I got very close to the people here in Minnesota,” Kill says.

Proceeds from his new book are going towards his Chasing Dreams epilepsy fund.
Spreading hope to others as he moves into this new phase of his life.

“I don't know what the future holds, but for right now, I'm where I need to be,” he says.

Coach Kill will be at the Gopher football game Saturday as the team hosts Indiana State.
He'll be signing books ahead of time at Buffalo Wild Wings next to the stadium from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
