Edina police looking for tips after Sunday night assault

Police said a woman was injured after two younger men demanded her purse on Nov. 13.

EDINA, Minn. — Edina police are asking the public for help after a woman was assaulted on Sunday, Nov. 13. 

Police said a dark-colored SUV with a loud muffler pulled up to a woman standing on the corner of York Street and 69th Avenue by One Southdale Place around 8:30 p.m.

Two men who police said were between 16 and 20 years old got out of the SUV and demanded the woman give them her purse. When she refused, they assaulted her and injured her face and head. 

Officials said there isn't any known footage of the attack, which is why they're appealing to the public for help. Anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack or who may have seen anything suspicious is asked to contact Detective Joel Moore at (952) 826-0485 or jmoore@EdinaMN.gov.
