MPD: Investigating after two cars collide; leaving 1 dead, 1 injured

MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police say one person died and another suffered life-threatening injuries following a car crash early Sunday morning.

MPD found two cars at the scene of the crash shortly after midnight near the intersection of 42nd and Lyndale avenues north.

Police say one of the drivers died at the scene, and EMS transported the other driver to North Memorial with potential life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary information indicates that one of the vehicles entered entered the intersection at a "high rate of speed and impacted" the other car, authorities say. 

There have been no arrests.

The investigation remains ongoing. This story will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
