Officials investigating deadly crash in Fridley involving pedestrian

FRIDLEY, Minn. — At least one person is dead following a crash involving a pedestrian Friday in Fridley.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, officers from Fridley responded to a report about a person lying on the ground in the 600 block of East River Road Northeast just after 5:15 p.m. on Friday. 

Police said they found a dead man when they arrived at the scene.

Officers believe the man was struck by a vehicle that then drove away after the crash. No information has been released about the victim. 

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any information about the crash to call the Anoka County Sheriff's Office at (763) 427-1212. 

Officials have not released any information about what kind of vehicle they think was involved in this fatal hit-and-run. 

Fridley police, the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office, Minnesota State Patrol and the Anoka County Sheriff's Office are all still investigating.
