Lois Riess extradited to FL to face murder charges

Reiss is being held at the Lee County Jail and faces second-degree murder, criminal use of identification, larceny and grand theft auto charges.

LEE COUNTY, Florida - Lois Riess has been extradited to Florida to face murder charges.

Reiss is being held at the Lee County Jail and faces second-degree murder, criminal use of identification, larceny and grand theft auto charges.

Her trial is scheduled for May 29.

Riess is suspected of killing her husband and murdering a Fort Myers woman.

Authorities say Riess shot and killed David Riess, whose body was found at their home in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, in late March.

Investigators believe Riess then fled to Florida where she allegedly killed Pamela Hutchinson in Fort Myers, intending to steal her identity.

A nationwide manhunt for Riess ended earlier this month when a tipster recognized her at a restaurant in South Padre Island, Texas. She was arrested without incident.

Minnesota authorities say they intend to bring Riess back to Minnesota to stand trial when Florida is done.
