Pedestrian hit in St. Paul light rail crash

Transit officials say the man crossed from the north side into the walkway and the train operator sounded the horn but the pedestrian was hit.

ST. PAUL - Green Line light rail trains are running again after a train hit a pedestrian in St. Paul Friday afternoon.

Just after 3 p.m. an eastbound train struck an adult male at the intersection of University and Dunlap.

Transit officials say the man crossed from the north side into the walkway and the train operator sounded the horn but the pedestrian was hit.

Howie Padilla of Metro Transit says the man is being treated at Regions Hospital but his condition is unknown.
