Scooter driver dies after fatal crash in St. Louis Park

There was no indication that drugs or alcohol were a factor.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. — The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified a man who was killed riding a scooter in St. Louis Park Wednesday morning. 

Officials responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision at around 9 a.m. at the intersection of 28th Street West and Quentin Avenue South, involving a car and scooter-type vehicle licensed for roadway use.

The driver of the scooter was transported to an area hospital by ambulance. Police say he died from his injuries.

He was later identified by the medical examiner as 88-year-old Constantine Christ Legeros of St. Louis Park.

The driver of the car, a woman from a neighboring community, cooperated with police and was released pending further investigation, officials said.

There was no indication of criminal activity, and there was no indication that drugs or alcohol were a factor.
