Prosecutors have charged two men in connection with the heavy damage done to soccer fields in Hastings.
Edward Lee Mears and Asa Alden Soine have been charged with criminal damage to property in the 1st degree, which is a felony.
The men are accused of driving on the wet soccer fields and doing several "donuts" with at least one vehicle.
A post on the city website shows an aerial picture of three soccer fields with torn-up turf at Veterans Athletic Complex.
The soccer fields were damaged on Sunday, March 24.
It is estimated that 200,000 square feet of turf was destroyed.
A landscaping employee said it would cost $137,000 to fix the fields, according to the criminal complaint.
City officials are hoping some of the costs will be covered by insurance.
