With more than 520 retailers and 50 restaurants, plus two full-service hotels, Mall of America has attracted more than 40 million guests each year from around the globe.
Here are a few things to know, before you go:
- Hours: Extended hours during the lead up to the Super Bowl. Friday Jan. 26 -Wednesday Jan. 31 hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Thursday Feb. 1 to Saturday Feb. 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Feb. 4 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Feb. 5 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Typical hours for Mall of America are 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. - Transportation:
- The Hiawatha Light Rail offers service from downtown Minneapolis (5th Street) to Mall of America. The travel time from end to end is typically 39 minutes. Schedules and routes can be found here.
- Express bus transportation from downtown St. Paul runs every 30 minutes. Route 54 offers limited stop service from 6th and 7th streets in St. Paul to Mall of America and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
- Parking
- Parking is available in a number of lots and the East and West parking ramps for free.
- Spaces fill up on the weekends and during events -- but the Mall of America twitter account typically tweets out when a ramp is full.
- If you'd rather guarantee a nice, close spot, you can use the MyPark app to reserve a premium spot on the ground floor. Rates are $6 for the first two hours and $3 for each additional hour. (Use code MYPARK1 to get your first use for free).
- Valet
- If you'd rather not deal with parking at all, you can valet at three locations: North entrance off Lindau Lane (main entrance or underground ramp), Radisson Blu or JW Marriott.

- Browse the directory of stores, navigate with the help of a detailed map and get reminders about where you parked by downloading the mall's app.
