HUDSON, Wis. - Authorities have released video of a wild chase that happened in Wisconsin last week that injured at least one officer.

At approximately 11 a.m. on May 30, Hudson Police spotted a stolen pickup in downtown Hudson, wanted in connection with burglaries and a robbery in St. Croix County. Police say they tried to stop the truck on Wisconsin St., south of Vine St., but the driver sped up and ran several stop signs.

Law enforcement from both Hudson and the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office joined the chase, which went east into Hudson, at one point going off-road, through farm fields and even a yard. The chase ended when the truck hit a tree in the 800-block of Highlander Trail, a news release from Hudson Police states.

The driver can be seen and heard on the video trying escape, but officers have the suspect boxed in.

Police say they took the suspect, a man from Fredonia, into custody and jailed him in St. Croix County. Charges are pending.

A Hudson police officer and a St. Croix County Sheriff’s deputy suffered minor injuries during the pursuit. Both were treated and released from the hospital.
