ANOKA, Minn. — The cold won't stop the tricks or treats in the Halloween Capital of the World.
On Friday, kiddos bundled up for the Anoka Big Parade of Little People — many wearing onesies, thermals, and puffy jackets.
"I think back to the year I went as the pink Power Ranger," recalled Alysia Coffield. "I specifically remember not wanting to cover it up. I didn't win that battle."
According to KARE 11 meteorologist Ben Dery, the Halloween forecast will be one of the colder trick-or-treating nights we've seen in recent years.
Anoka's Main Street was surprisingly quiet early Friday evening as folks rushed inside businesses.
Annika Okerstrom said she's recently noticed a change in drink orders at Avant Garden's Metta Coffee.
"Almost every person that comes in is getting something hot. nothing iced," said barista Annika Okerstrom.
The heart of Anoka is planning on hosting several events in the coming days leading up to Halloween, including the Grande Day Parade starting at 1 p.m. at State and Main Streets.
