GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — The growing season is just around the corner! Several organizations are ready to help you start your 2024 garden with their upcoming plant sales. Check out the list below (listed by start date) or find a sale near you on our interactive map.

THURSDAY, APRIL 25 THROUGH SUNDAY, JUNE 2

Volunteers in Corrections Annual Plant Sale

  • Ramsey County Correctional Facility, 297 Century Ave S
  • Thursdays through Sundays starting April 25 through June 2 (times vary, see website below)

The sale features hanging baskets, annuals, herbs and vegetables, with 25% of each purchase being tax deductible.

Joy Plant Market

Open to the whole community, featuring annuals, perennials, vegetables, fruit, herbs and hanging baskets.

TUESDAY, MAY 7

Hennepin Technical College Annual Plant Sale

The annual plant sale features "colorful annuals, hearty perennials, tons of tomatoes and veggies, and aromatic herbs ... hanging baskets and flowering containers." Proceeds from the sale benefit Hennepin Technical College's Landscape and Horticulture program and student scholarships.

FRIDAY, MAY 10 & SATURDAY, MAY 11

Edina Garden Council Plant Sale

  • 4711 West 70th St., Edina
  • Friday, May 10 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Saturday, May 11 (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

The 51st anniversary plant sale benefits local projects including scholarships and greenhouse supplies. The sale includes perennials, annuals, veggies, herbs and baskets. Master Gardeners will be in attendance to answer questions.

Minnesota Landscape Arboretum Plant Sale

This is the 56th annual plant sale at the Arb, with a selection of "perennials, fruits, vegetables, herbs, lilies, roses, hostas, Minnesota natives, trees and several varieties of U of M-introduced apple and fruit trees, grapes, azaleas and shrubs." Visitors should know that this year's sale will be Friday and Saturday, rather than Saturday and Sunday like in past years. Admission to the sale is free, but guests will need reservations. Ticket information is available online.

Friends School Plant Sale

  • Minnesota State Fair Grandstand

This three-day, largely volunteer-run plant sale has been held every Mother's Day weekend since 1989. This year's sale features more than 2,000 plant varieties, with proceeds benefitting the Friends School of Minnesota.

SATURDAY, MAY 11

Champlin Garden Club Plant Sale

The event promises a "variety of annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, hanging baskets" and more.

Eagan Garden Club Plant Sale

"Perennials, annuals, vegetables and hanging baskets" are available at this event.

Waldorf Community Plant Club Sale

  • Community Center, 109 Main St., North St., Waldorf, MN
  • Saturday, May 11, 8 a.m.-11 a.m.

Find a mix of perennials raised by club members, as well as annuals and house plants. Organizers recommend showing up early, there will be a crowd at 8 a.m.!

TUESDAY, MAY 14

Garden Club of Minneapolis Annual Public Plant Sale

The rain-or-shine plant sale features "high-quality new and unusual annuals and perennials that are not typically found at local nurseries" with volunteers and Master Gardeners available to answer questions.

TUESDAY, MAY 14 & WEDNESDAY, MAY 15

Anoka Co. Master Gardeners Plant Sale

  • Anoka County Fairgrounds, 3200 St. Francis Blvd., Anoka
  • Tuesday, May 14 (2p.m. to 8 p.m.) & Wednesday, May 15 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m. & 50% off last chance sale 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.)

The annual plant sale features "hundreds of reasonably priced plants including sun and shade perennials, native plants, ornamental grasses, herbs, vegetables, houseplants, pollinator magnates, annuals and more" according to their website. U of M Extension Master Gardeners will also be available to answer questions.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 15 & THURSDAY, MAY 16

Rochester Garden & Flower Club Plant Sale

The 85th annual sale by the Rochester Garden & Flower Club features locally-grown plants, herbs and veggie starts, plus succulents for the first time.

FRIDAY, MAY 17 & SATURDAY, MAY 18

Lakeville Area Garden Club Plant and Extras Sale

  • 9975 194th St. West, Lakeville
  • Friday, May 17 (8 a.m. to 7 p.m.) & Saturday, May 18 (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Coinciding with the Lakeville City-wide Garage Sale, the event includes popular perennials, bulbs, flowers, vegetables and herbs. Several "garden extras" are also available, like tools, pots, books and decorations.

SATURDAY, MAY 18

Blue Earth Co. Master Gardeners Plant Sale

  • Mankato Curling Club, 1202 Caledonia St., Mankato

Hosted by Minnesota Valley/Blue Earth County Master Gardeners, the event includes "seeds, annuals, houseplants, bulbs, perennials, natives, and veggies."

Burnsville Native Plant Market

Burnsville and non-Burnsville residents are invited to the annual spring Native Plant Market to learn more and purchase a variety of native plants that can benefit pollinators and make the community beautiful.

Dakota Co. Master Gardener Volunteers Annual Plant Sale

The rain-or-shine plant sale features "sun and shade perennials, natives, and woodland plants, grasses, groundcovers, and other landscape plants, along with herb and veggie plants. All plants are sold bare-rooted to prevent the spread of invasive species. Proceeds support U of M Extension Master Gardener programs in Dakota County.

Dakota Gardeners Garden Club Plant Sale

  • Community of Christ Church, 5990 134th St. Court, Apple Valley

Many varieties of annual and perennial plants will be for sale, including natives, grasses, hanging baskets, herbs, and vegetables. This is the only fundraiser for this non-profit garden club.

Garden Club of Ramsey County Great Plant Sale

The rain-or-shine event features a variety of plants, shrubs, tomato plants, garden tools and supplies for sale.

Hennepin Co. Master Gardener Spring Plant Sale

This sale promises 25% more plants than last year, totaling more than 22,000 plants and 625 plant varieties, including "sun and shade perennials, native plants, grasses, specialty perennials, groundcovers, annuals, herbs, and vegetables." More than three dozen master gardeners will be in attendance to help answer questions.

Ramsey Co. Master Gardeners Plant Sale

This year's Ramsey Co. plant sale is moving to a new location — Aldrich Arena — and offers "perennials, annuals, herbs and vegetables grown by Master Gardener volunteers and select local wholesale growers." Gardening supplies are also available for purchase and Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions.

Washington Co. Master Gardeners Plant Sale

Visitors can choose from "annuals and perennials, native and prairie plants, monarch and pollinator favorites, grasses, shade loving plants, and vegetables including heirloom tomatoes and herbs" grown by Master Gardener volunteers or local nurseries. Proceeds support educational projects for Washington County Master Gardener Volunteers.

Wright Co. Master Gardeners Plant Sale

  • Wright County Extension Office, 3500 Braddock Ave NE, Buffalo
  • Saturday, May 18 (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.)

The 2024 plant sale for the Wright County Master Gardeners features shade and sun perennials, vegetables and flowers for sale.

SATURDAY, JUNE 8

Hopkins Avenues Neighborhood Association East Plant Sale

  • Alice Smith Elementary School, 801 Minnetonka Mills Road
  • Saturday, June 8 (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.)

The sale features annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, house plants and garden items, with proceeds going back to the Hopkins community. Master Gardeners will also be available to answer questions.
