WINNEBAGO, Minn. — Two men are in custody after a southern Minnesota drug task force confiscated hundreds of marijuana plants during a raid in Faribault County Thursday.

The South Central Drug Investigation Unit (SCDIU) says Scott Robertson and his son were arrested after agents executed search warrants on three properties in the community of Winnebago. SCDIU unit commander Ben Johnson said approximately 240 plants believed to be marijuana were confiscated, along with other property to be used as evidence in the case.

Both Robertsons are being held on offenses related to the cultivation of marijuana pending formal charges.

Johnson said in a news release the raid is part of an ongoing multi-agency investigation that began back in 2023.

Scott Robertson became mayor of Winnebago via write-in back in 2021 when no one officially filed for the office. He is a public official, which is why KARE 11 is naming him before charges are filed.
