Hundreds gather for event to support for Children’s HeartLink

In its first 50 years, Children’s HeartLink has reached one million children with Congenital Heart Disease.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Hundreds of people gathered Saturday night to support an organization committed to making sure every child has a healthy heart.

Minneapolis-based Children’s HeartLink held its Global Gathering Saturday night at the JW Marriott at the Mall of America. KARE 11’s Karla Hult served as the emcee of the event.

In its first 50 years, the organization has reached one million children with Congenital Heart Disease by working with local hospitals in underserved parts of the world. But the challenge is daunting, experts note, as today, only one in 10 children suffering from Congenital Heart Disease around the world receives access to the lifesaving care they need to survive and thrive.
