Which hound is bound for glory? Cast your vote for Energy Resources' 'ambassadog'

Minnesota Energy Resources is looking to teach an old dog some new tricks this year as part as its safe digging campaign.

MINNEAPOLIS — Call on the dogs! Minnesota Energy Resources is asking you to help choose its next safe digging "ambassadog."

The company said in a statement Friday that it's looking to teach an old dog some new tricks this year as part as its safe digging campaign. 

Narrowed down from a perfect pool of good boys and girls, the top six finalists are: 

  • Maverick

Maverick is a 4-and-a-half-year-old pup from Grand Rapids who loves digging and hunting.
  • Snoopy

Snoopy is a 14-year-old rescue dog from Rochester who keeps their humans busy.
  • Winnie

Winnie is a 5-year-old goldendoodle from Grand Rapids who enjoys boat rides and belly rubs.
  • Pepsi

Winnie is an 11-month-old Aussiedoodle from Albert Lea also known as “the Excavator” who loves to play chase and go to the dog park.
  • Takoda

Takoda is a 6-year-old pup from Blooming Prairie who loves to be outside in all the elements and excels at catching Frisbees.
  • Stella

Stella is a 1-year-old pup from Jackson who likes to bark at everything in the backyard.

Is it puppy love? Cast your vote now between Monday, April 22, and give your favorite dog its day.

The winner will be revealed before the end of April and will be featured in Energy Resources' safe digging awareness campaign through the year.
