CHAMPLIN, Minn. — A man is in the hospital with serious injuries after officials said he was struck by a vehicle while lying in a lane of Highway 169 Friday night.

The Minnesota State Patrol said a Kia Sorento was headed north near Dayton Road at the bridge in Champlin when the driver hit a man lying in the lane.

The 41-year-old man from Minneapolis was rushed to North Memorial and troopers described his condition as "life-threatening."

Officials do not believe that either the pedestrian or the driver, a 36-year-old woman from Anoka, were drinking.
