Minneapolis crash sends 5 women to the hospital Sunday morning

Police said preliminary information shows the vehicle was exiting Highway 94 on Sunday morning when it crashed.

MINNEAPOLIS — Officials said five women were sent to the hospital with injuries on Sunday morning after a single-vehicle crash near Interstate 94. 

Just before 8:30 Sunday morning, officers from Minneapolis' fourth precinct responded to a rollover crash near Dowling Avenue North in the city's Camden area. Of the five women in the vehicle at the time of the crash, police said one needed to be extracted by firefighters. 

Three of the women were taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, police said, and two of the women were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Two of the women may have been thrown from the vehicle during the crash, officials said. 

Police said preliminary information shows the vehicle was exiting I-94 when the crash happened on Dowling Avenue North. 

This crash is still under investigation by Minneapolis police.
