Using augmented reality to make art

Using technology as a tool, not a replacement for human creativity.

MINNEAPOLIS — Nowadays it seems technology is creeping into every aspect of life... and that includes art.

There's a new way to paint a work of art with virtual reality glasses. It's a project designed to empower artists to take their work to new heights.

A few benefits of Augmented Reality (AR) are increased productivity with fewer mistakes, better decision-making, and faster learning and retention.

Using AR as a template in painting improves the speed and accuracy of line work and proportions.

For example, a 12-hour project can be reduced to five hours using AR.

Anthony Corrado from Everyday AR and Linnea Maas from InsideTheRobot joined KARE 11 Saturday to show us how it's done.
