Native Nations Fashion Night

Designer Delina White joined KARE 11 News at Noon to preview designs show-goers will see Thursday evening, including a dress based in Anishinaabe culture.

MINNEAPOLIS — Join designer and member of the Leech Lake Anishinaabe Nation, Delina White, for the largest gala event and marketplace in the Upper Midwest Thursday for a night of Native American-inspired and -created fashion.

The event, Native Nations Fashion Night: Messengers, Protectors & Great Mysteries, features three designers and one designer collaboration with the University of Minnesota's School of Design, in addition to an authentic Native marketplace with wearable art, apparel, jewelry, accessories and beauty products.

White joined KARE 11 News at Noon to preview some of the designs show-goers will see Thursday evening, including a dress based on Anishinaabe culture.

White said she hopes that by attending the event, the community will gain a more solid understanding of native fashion designs, as well as the importance of building economic empowerment for Native artists.

Those interested in attending the event on Thursday, April 25 at northeast Minneapolis' Quincy Hall can find more information and tickets by clicking here.
