MINNEAPOLIS — A teenager was killed and a woman was injured Saturday night after a shooting in south Minneapolis.
Minneapolis Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 2200 block of E. Lake Street around 7:38 p.m., according to a release from the department.
When they arrived, officers found the victim, identified Monday as 16-year-old Isayah Coburn, of Minneapolis, suffering from gunshot wounds. The officers attempted life-saving measures, but Coburn ultimately succumbed to the injuries, according to the release.
The officers also found a 29-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound, but it was deemed "non-life-threatening." She was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center and treated for her injuries.
A nearby apartment building was also struck by gunfire, according to the MPD.
A GoFundMe has since been set up to help support a homegoing celebration for Coburn. If you'd like to contribute, click here.
