Popular St. Paul eatery to close

Lululemon, J. Crew and Anthropologie have all closed on Grand Avenue in the past year.

ST PAUL, Minn. — The losses are starting to pile up on St. Paul's Grand Avenue.

Salut, a popular French-inspired eatery that has operated on the street for more than a decade will officially close for business by Jan. 8.

The restaurant was part of Parasole Restaurant Holdings, which also owns Manny's Steakhouse in Minneapolis, as well as the other Salut location and Good Earth in Edina.

Donna Fahs, the restaurant general manager for Parasole, said the closure had become inevitable with other recent closures and the loss of foot traffic in the area.

“The restaurant industry has changed so much in the last five years,” said Fahs. “We couldn’t commit to a long-term lease with these interest rates and prices.”
