ROCHESTER, Minn. — Police made a post to social media on Monday to answer questions from the public surrounding the discovery of the body of a missing woman found on Friday evening.

Investigators found the body of 34-year-old Alice Dobmeier while searching for clues in their ongoing investigation into her disappearance. Her body was found 80 yards inside a culvert near a retention pond off of 25th Street Southeast.

On Saturday, police confirmed it was the body of Dobmeier, who was reported missing on March 6.

Officials said on Monday that they wanted to "dispel misinformation" by releasing some information about their investigation so far:

  • Dobmeier was alone when she checked into a local hotel on Sunday, March 3, and was alone when she checked out the following afternoon
  • She used a rideshare service to travel from her hotel to Walmart South, where she bought liquor and medication
  • Video shows Dobmeier leaving Walmart alone on Monday, March 4, and walking alone east on 25th Street Southeast
  • The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner's preliminary report shows there was no foul play

The investigation is still active and ongoing.
