SHAKOPEE, Minn. — It's a sure sign that summer is almost here when you can hear the metallic clicks and creaks, followed by the shrieks of fear and delight carried on the breeze from Shakopee.

Valleyfair's opening weekend is almost here.

On Sunday, May 12, rollercoaster lovers will get their first chance in 2024 to ride the amusement park's eight coasters, splash down in Soak City - the seven-acre waterpark - and enjoy all 75 attractions as the season opens to the public.

Can't wait until Sunday? On May 11, Valleyfair opens for Season Pass Preview Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Just like last year, Valleyfair's chaperone policy states that guests 15 or younger must be accompanied by someone who is at least 21 years old to enter or stay in the park past 4 p.m. You can find more information on the park's Code of Conduct page.

Also in 2024, Valleyfair announced the return of ValleyScare, the Halloween attraction offering six immersive haunted mazes (three are brand new!), three redesigned frightening scare zones, and all the eerie entertainment and Halloween-themed food and drinks you can handle.
