Wedding venues offer free space after closure leaves Twin Cities brides scrambling

These venues are going the extra mile to make sure that Twin Cities couples get to have their special day.

ISANTI, Minn. — Imagine getting dumped two weeks before your wedding.

That's the reality that these Minnesota couples are facing - as the Isanti wedding venue Circle B announced its closure on Sunday and refused to take calls from customers.

Bride Katelyn Stalboerger told KARE 11's Morgan Wolfe that her family paid Circle B more than $11,000, and now, she has no venue and can't contact the owners.

But thankfully, some nearby venues are stepping up to make sure that these couples still have their special day.

Employees at the Jerome Event Center said the venue would be available for free for affected couples, in a post on Facebook and an email to KARE 11. The industrial farmhouse locale is in Delano and offered up several free Saturdays in May, June, July and August. Click here for more information

The Wexford at Emerald Greens posted on Facebook that they would offer up to 75% discounted rates for affected couples. The space is gorgeous, with a high ceiling and big windows looking over a golf course in Hastings. Click here for more

Genesis Ranch in Rosemount is offering "major discounts and planning services" to affected couples, according to a Facebook post. The farmhouse spot has outdoor and indoor options for your celebration. Click here for more

If you don't mind a bit longer of a drive, Celebrations at The Gables is offering special rates for venue space and catering in Turtle Lake, Wis. Click here for more information

The Isanti police chief told KARE 11 they've heard from at least 14 people regarding the venue's closure, and urge anyone else suffering economic losses to call the department at 763-689-2141.

Police said they're working with the Isanti County Attorney's Office to determine whether the case should be treated as criminal or civil.
