Holiday light displays near the Twin Cities

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

ST PAUL, Minn. — It's that time of year... shopping malls start playing Christmas jingles and it's a bit nippy outside. Holiday spirit is starting to build.

So if you're looking for something festive to do in the upcoming weeks, here are the holiday light displays in the Twin Cities area.

GLOW Holiday Festival - St. Paul

For an over-the-top Christmas village, head to St. Paul. Beyond the light display, GLOW will have a zip line, playground, snacks and a gift shop.

The festival runs from Nov. 16 to Dec. 31 at the CHS Field from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. each night. Tickets are $12.75 for kids 12 and under and $20.75 for everyone else. Click here to purchase tickets or browse the website.

Minnesota Landscape Arboretum - Chaska

For those with a green thumb (or those who just love to look), head to the "Arb" to see plants and holiday lights. The display also features a s'mores station, sandwiches and a bar for the adults.

The Arboretum will be open on select dates in November and December. Admission is $10 for members, $25 for non-members and free for kids 15 and younger. Note that kids' tickets may be $5 or $10 on specific theme nights. For more information, click here

Magic of Lights - Eagan

This light display is a drive-through experience, which may be best for a frosty winter night outing. Located at Viking Lakes near the team's practice stadium, the display has a tunnel of lights alongside family-favorite characters like giant Barbie and Bigfoot Monster Truck.

Magic of Lights runs from Nov. 17 to Dec. 31 and is open 5:30-9 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 5:30-10 p.m. Friday to Sunday. Tickets start at $25 per vehicle. For tickets and more information, click here

Sever's Festivals - Shakopee

Another drive-through light display for those who prefer the coziness of their car, Sever's offers a half-mile light course and an observation lot to park in.

The festival runs from Nov. 22 to Dec. 31 from 5-9 p.m. Tickets range from $30-60 and need to be bought in advance. On Tuesdays, tickets are $10 per car. For more information, click here
