MN lawmakers respond to the Mueller report summary

Minnesota lawmakers took to Twitter to issue their responses
Senate Judiciary Committee member Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) delivers an opening statement during Judge Neil Gorsuch's Supreme Court confirmation hearing in the Hart Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill March 20, 2017 in Washington, DC.

A number of Minnesota lawmakers responded Sunday to the Justice Department's summary of the results of special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

Rep. Jim Hagedorn (R):

By releasing conclusions of the report, Attorney General Barr has shown the Mueller investigation came up empty. There was no collusion! Over the last two years, this effort tried to discredit and undermine the Trump presidency. It was a shameful waste of tax dollars and it’s time to move forward for the good of the American people.

I invite colleagues to join me in working with President Trump to enact commonsense measures to expand the U.S. economy and protect our national security. Some of the most obvious bipartisan measures that I support and must be enacted include the free trade agreement with Mexico and Canada, a transportation and infrastructure bill and measures to secure America’s borders.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D):

AG Barr's summary 4-pg letter of Special Counsel Mueller's investigation underscores that the ENTIRE report & documentation-including all information re Russia’s attempts to influence our election-need to be made public. The public deserves answers now-our democracy depends on it.

Rep. Betty McCollum (D):

Trump admin AG determines his boss -- President Trump -- did not break the law, even though the Mueller Report explicitly "does not exonerate him (Trump)." That Russia interfered in the 2016 election benefiting Mr. Trump is confirmed. The American people must see the full report.

Sen.Tina Smith (D):

A summary is not enough. I—and all Americans—need to see the entire report.

Rep. Angie Craig (D):

Transparency must remain our top priority. The full Mueller report must be made public to hardworking Americans who deserve to know all of the facts.
