ST. PAUL, Minn. - There's a new look outside DFL headquarters in St. Paul Monday morning, one that party officials are not really pleased with.

DFL Chairman Ken Martin says staffers returned from a campaign swing through the iron range around 11 p.m. Sunday and everything was fine. The vandalism was discovered at 7 a.m. Monday morning when staff showed up for work and noticed someone had spray painted the large sign out front of the building on the 200 block of East Plato Boulevard in St. Paul. Under the DFL logo the vandal had painted in large red letters "For Trump."

Martin says the party has seen increasing incidents of vandalism, intimidation and harassment in recent weeks as both the presidential campaign and hard-fought local races come down to the wire. He says he's been in the political arena for 25 years and has never seen things this bad.

"The tone and tenor of this campaign is really divisive and destructive," Martin reflected.

Police were notified about the incident and a report filed. Martin says there are no surveillance cameras outside the building. He also says there are more pressing matters, like engaging voters and getting out the vote for election day.
