MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Timberwolves are set to play the Denver Nuggets Saturday at 6 p.m., but before the series tips off, KARE 11's Samie Solina and Evan Kruegel with 9NEWS in Denver polled a few residents from their respective cities about everything from geography to weather.
Who is going to win tomorrow?
Colorado resident Mike Sparkman: I don’t think anywhere, especially Minnesota, can rival this.
Minnesota resident D.J. Hammond: This is a huge deal for Minnesota and the Timberwolves to be going to the second round. And I'm honestly super excited.
Mountains or Lakes?
Colorado resident Nate Derman: They don’t have these kinds of views, they don’t have the Rocky Mountains.
Minnesota resident Andrew Osman: Lakes. You can take a sailboat out, and like see the sea downtown, see the lights when they light it up for the Timberwolves!
Colorado resident Carissa Vanroe: What’s not to love about the mountains? You need a boat for a lake, who has boat money these days?
Who has the best weather?
Minnesota resident Jennifer Magner: I’m a big cross country skier. So I like that I can ski in the city all winter long. You don't get that kind of weather in Denver.
Colorado resident Mike Sparkman: It’s a beautiful place, but if we think we have bad winters, stick around there for a couple days. You’ll want to get out as quick as you can.
What is the other city known for?
Minnesota resident D.J. Hammond: Weed.
Colorado resident Nate Derman: They have the mall of America don’t they?
Minnesota resident Andrew Osman: The airport. I know they have that creepy horse. And there's some conspiracy there.
Nuggets or Timberwolves?
Minnesota resident D.J. Hammond: Really, a Denver Nugget? What does the Nugget represent? The Denver Chicken McNuggets?
Colorado resident Nate Derman: Do they have a mascot? The Timberwolves? I don’t pay any attention to Minnesota. I will for the first four games then they’ll be history again.
