Crash kills motorcyclist in Coon Rapids

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says the rider was traveling on Hanson Blvd. at a high rate of speed when he ran into a vehicle turning onto the busy road.

A man is dead after crashing his motorcycle into a vehicle in Coon Rapids Tuesday night.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says the rider was traveling southbound on Hanson Blvd. NW at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a vehicle that was turning onto Hanson from 129th Lane NW.

Law enforcement says the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead on the scene, while the driver of the other vehicle was critically injured and rushed to a local hospital, where he remains at this time.

Coon Rapids police, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, the Minnesota State Patrol and Midwest Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the crash.
