1 dead, suspect held in Shakopee shooting

A 23-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Police were called to this Shakopee neighborhood Monday night, and found a 65-year-old man fatally shot.

SHAKOPEE, Minn. — A suspect is jailed in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at a home in Shakopee Monday night. 

Shakopee police were dispatched to a scene on the 2400 block of Paha Circle just before 7:30 p.m. on reports of a shooting. Officers found a 65-year-old man inside with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Hennepin County Medical Center where the victim was pronounced dead. The victim was later identified as Timothy Guion.

A 23-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of second-degree murder. He is being held in the Scott County Jail pending official charges. Police say there is no indication the victim and suspected shooter knew each other.
