Local film critic previews summer movies for 2024

Brian Eggert, who writes about classic, independent, international and new releases, shared some of his picks.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — This summer is expected to be a big one for the box office.

Film critic Brian Eggert joined KARE 11 Saturday to discuss the best blockbuster movie so far this year and spotlight three promising-looking titles coming this summer. 

FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA – Now in Theaters    

The Mad Max universe expands at the box office with this blockbuster, starring Anna Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth.

INSIDE OUT 2 – Coming June 14    

A Pixar favorite gets a sequel as Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust are joined by Anxiety for "Inside Out 2"

HORIZON: AN AMERICAN SAGA – Part 1 on June 28, Part 2 on August 16  

Kevin Costner returns to the west with this four-part epic, with the first two films premiering this summer.

TRAP - August 9

Minnesota's Josh Harnett returns to theaters in this serial killer thriller.
