MISSING: Maple Grove Police asking for assistance locating missing 18-year-old

Winston Drepaul is described as 5-foot-10, 150 pounds and was last seen wearing a black puffy winter jacket, gray sweatpants and black shoes/boots.

MAPLE GROVE, Minn. — UPDATE: On April 17, Maple Grove Police told KARE 11 that the Hennepin County Medical Examiner positively identified remains found in a Maple Grove pond as Drepaul.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Maple Grove Police ask the public to avoid areas around a local pond as officials search for a missing teen. 

Saturday morning police posted to social media that officials closed Lakeview Drive between Arbor Lakes Parkway and Kirkwood Lane in Maple Grove from 10:30 a.m. until approximately 9 p.m. on March 30 as they search for a missing person. 

According to officials:

"80th Avenue and Central Park Way can be accessed by going north on Forestview Lane from Hemlock Lane.  Updates will be provided when available.  We thank the community for their patience with this closure and ask that the public avoid this area."

Police say 18-year-old Winston Drepaul, who also goes by "Dee Pee" or "Dez," left his apartment on the 11800 block of 80th Ave. on Saturday, March 23 on foot without any of his personal belongings, including without his medications. 

Drepaul is described as 5-foot-10, 150 pounds and was last seen wearing a black puffy winter jacket, gray sweatpants and black shoes/boots. He was seen on video on the 23rd outside the Maple Grove Community Center on Weaver Lake Road.
