Reports: KAT to return to action on Friday

The Wolves have been playing without their All-Star big for more than a month.

MINNEAPOLIS — This is what sequels are made of?

All-Star Timberwolves forward Karl-Anthony Towns could be making his long-awaited return as soon as this Friday when the Wolves take on the Hawks, according to multiple reports.

If the reports are true, KAT's return will provide a huge boost to the Wolves as they gear up for a post-season run.

The Wolves have maintained a top-3 seed in the NBA's Western Conference while Towns has been recovering from a torn meniscus he suffered in early March.

The Timberwolves haven't confirmed if Towns will play in Friday's matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, but did confirm he had been upgraded from OUT to Questionable.

Towns, who is enjoying another All-Star season, is averaging 22.1 points per game with eight boards while shooting an efficient 50.6% from the field.

The Wolves have switched between starting Kyle Anderson and Naz Reid at KAT's position throughout his recovery.

It's the second season in a row KAT has missed significant time before attempting to rejoin the team right before their playoff push.
