Prince memorabilia up for auction

More than 8,200 items are up for auction. Bidding ends on Nov. 16.

CHANHASSEN, Minn. — As Prince's music lives on, so does his iconic stage style — ruffled shirts, intricate lace sleeves and bejeweled accessories.

Blending genres to create something unique in his music, his outfits combined masculine and feminine influences, brash jewel tones and soft lacy ruffles to create a powerhouse stage persona.

And now, those outfits are for sale.

RR Auction, based in Boston, recently listed "The Fashion of Prince" auction online. It includes the singer's clothing, jewelry and memorabilia from the "Purple Rain" movie and tour, Parade tour, Lovesexy tour, among others.

Prince's famous white ruffled shirt from the 12th Annual American Music Awards was at $3,945 with 14 bids Tuesday afternoon and is estimated to hit $15,000.

More than 8,200 items are up for auction. Bidding ends on Nov. 16.

The auction site said the "Purple Rain" items were acquired from Prince's wardrobe designer. Other items vary or are not listed. The Prince Estate is not affiliated with the auction, according to the site.
